| Abstract: | Globalization has impacted the world in different ways, affecting the growth and development of economies, as well as integrating them into the global market. Therefore, this study on globalization and economic development in Nigeria sought to understand the impact of FDI, financial integration, and trade openness on the manufacturing and services sectors in Nigeria from 1990 to 2022. Secondary time series data from the CBN were used for the analysis. The study used the ARDL model for the analysis. It was found that there is a significant influence of FDI, financial integration, and trade openness on the manufacturing and services sectors in Nigeria over the period. The study concluded that globalization plays an important role in the key sectors of Nigeria. The study recommended that policies on trade openness should be expanded as this leads to increased investments and FDI. |
